The Public Prosecution Office in Kuwait received 10 new communications against social media celebrities in the case of money laundering.

Local media said that, "The Kuwaiti Attorney General issued a decision earlier to seize the funds of at least 10 famous social media platforms, and prevent them from traveling."

Al-Qabas and Al-Akhbar newspapers reported that the prosecution's decision came after a report by the Financial Investigation Unit against these celebrities due to the inflation of their bank accounts, which raises the suspicion of money laundering.

Local press reports said that Kuwaiti security services monitor 23 famous people in Saudi Arabia for their ties to the issue of money laundering in Kuwait, and the reports added that the charges included selling cars and watches between Kuwaiti and Saudi celebrities.

It is mentioned that Kuwait comes first in the Gulf in the number of accounts on social media platforms, whether citizens or residents of its territory.

According to previous statistics published by Al-Qabas newspaper, there are 3 million Facebook users in the country, 1.8 million users of Instagram, in addition to 1.68 million users of Twitter.
