When the man was charged at Uppsala District Court, there were a total of ten cases of rape against seven women, 19 cases of abusive photography against 17 women, two cases of purchase of sexual services, and one case of child pornography offenses. The majority of the rapes took place in connection with the man dating the women.

The district court acquitted the man on several charges but sentenced him to five years in prison for six cases of rape, two cases of buying sex and child pornography offenses. But the prosecution wants to see a longer sentence.

- We have only appealed the charges for which the man is convicted. We believe that the penalty value that the district court has added up is too low and believe that the man should be sentenced to at least six years in prison, says prosecutor Linn Lööw.

The defense: "Not enough evidence"

During the trial, the man admitted several cases of offensive photography - but denied the rest of the charges. From the defense side, it is believed that the district court's assessment is incorrect, and has appealed all charges for which the man was convicted.

- The points that my client has acknowledged are doomed and clear. Regarding the other points, we believe that the district court's evidence is not sufficient and therefore we want the Court of Appeal to try the case, says defense counsel Hanna Lindbom.
