It was when the parrot Tina was out for a walk with her owner Ahmed Al-Yassiri in mid-July that the bird was frightened by a passing car at high speed.

A moment later, Tina was found at the top of a crane at an apartment building a few hundred meters away, something BLT was the first to tell.

- My friend and I shouted at her to "jump", but she did not dare. It was clear that she was afraid of heights, says Ahmed Al-Yassiri.

In safety on the ground again. The parrot Tina, 1, and the owner Ahmed Al-Yassiri are today very grateful for the effort that the construction manager Johan Grahm and the children William and Stella contributed when they managed to get the scared bird down from the construction crane in Karlskrona. Police were called to the scene

So the terrified parrot remained in the crane and at the same time neighbors in the area had called the police.

- They became worried when they heard that we shouted "jump" to someone in the crane, but when the police came and realized that it was my parrot, they started laughing.

Construction manager Johan became a hero

The hero of the drama eventually became the construction manager Johan Grahm in Ronneby - who was called to the site at nine o'clock in the evening.

Via the construction lift, he climbed forty meters and, together with Tina's owner, was able to pick up the parrot in safety.

- She was shaking all over when I took her in my arms, says Ahmed Al-Yassiri.

For Johan Grahm, it was a different evening at work:

- I said to the children: "Should you keep up and save a parrot." And so this saga had a happy ending, he says.
