Pictures circulated by activists on social media showed a clear confusion in air navigation in the atmosphere of the city of Dammam.
The Flight Radar website, which specializes in tracking traffic, revealed that the airspace at Dammam Airport is completely empty of planes, despite the presence of many scheduled flights.
While another picture from the site showed that the itinerary of a plane that was heading from Jizan airport to Dammam had changed, the plane would rotate in the vicinity of Riyadh airport, and the flight to Dammam was not completed.
Tweeters also shared a third photo of a message that a Saudi citizen had received from the airline informing him to postpone his trip to Dammam.
A large number of Saudi citizens interacted via their Twitter accounts, complaining about their long waiting at the airport, and asking about what was happening there.
