"We don't want to be the suckers anymore," said US President Donald Trump when it came to cutting US forces.

President Trump met with reporters at the White House before leaving for Texas and was asked by Defense Secretary Mark Esper about the reduction of US troops stationed in Germany.

Bloomberg reported that President Trump has confirmed his view of Germany as a "dealer of debt" in relation to European defense spending.

Secretary Esper has announced that he will cut 12,000 US troops in Germany, deploy them to other locations, and move the European headquarters from Germany to Belgium.
