The Libyan army, which is affiliated with the internationally recognized government of National Accord, has declared its readiness for any attacks carried out by the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Hifter, amid Arab diplomatic action and warnings of "regionalizing the crisis."

The director of the Moral Guidance Department of the Central Military Region of the Libyan Army, Nasser al-Qayed, said that the mercenaries brought by Haftar are currently carrying out some defensive fortifications in Sirte and Al-Jafra, because they know their inability to confront the Libyan army forces in the event of an attack.

He added that his forces monitor the movements of Haftar's forces, stressing that there are indications that those forces are ready to attack by bringing Sudanese and Syrian Janjawid mercenaries, digging trenches and planting mines.

Meanwhile, dozens of minors who took up arms with Haftar's forces, west of Libya, affiliated to the Ministry of Interior, have released dozens of minors.

The Zawiya Security Directorate stated on its Facebook page that the release came as a humanitarian initiative on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.

The directorate added that the release of those under the age of 18 was coordinated between notables and the sages of the city of Zawia and the western region on the one hand, and the Directorate of Security of Zawiya on the other.

The Libyan Sirte Jafra Front is awaiting the results of behind-the-scenes negotiations between global and regional powers, to defuse an imminent war between the Libyan army and Haftar militia.

Diplomatic moves

On the political level, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said that the situation in Libya poses a threat to the stability of North Africa and the Arab world, stressing that foreign interventions do not contribute to resolving the Libyan crisis.

Bureita added - during a press conference in Rabat held with the Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan - that the Libyans are able to solve their problems themselves.

The Moroccan minister affirmed that his country has the desire and will to reach a political solution in Libya, but it does not have a recipe for this solution that lies with the Libyans alone.

In turn, the Saudi minister said at the press conference that the Libyan-Libyan solution ends fighting and external interference.

The developments in the situation in Libya overshadowed the discussions of the Saudi Foreign Minister in Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco, which began on Monday in previously unannounced visits.

In this context, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi warned of the danger of "regionalizing the crisis" in Libya.

For external interventions. "

Safadi called for an immediate ceasefire and engagement in political negotiations to end the crisis and restore security and stability to Libya.

He also affirmed the Kingdom's support for all political efforts and initiatives aimed at reaching a political solution to the crisis, including the Skhirat Agreement, the Berlin Conference, the Cairo Declaration, and all relevant Security Council resolutions.

Libya's delegate to the United Nations, Taher Al-Sunni, criticized the work of the UN sanctions committees and the interventions of Egypt and the UAE in his country's affairs, while Turkey accused the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and France of supplying the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar with weapons.

The Security Council's sanctions committee for Libya held a closed meeting - at the request of the Al-Wefaq government - to discuss ongoing violations of the 2011 arms embargo imposed on Libya.

The Chairman of the Sanctions Committee and Deputy German delegate Juergen Schultz said in a statement after the session, that the participating countries bear a special responsibility in implementing these sanctions.
