Jean-Yves LE DRIAN (Minister of Foreign Affairs). - NICOLAS MESSYASZ / SIPA

It is what one could call a beautiful "dumpling". In its edition of this Wednesday, Le Canard enchaîné  reports that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves le Drian would have sent - by mistake - an SMS intended for the Head of State to Ségolène Royal. Solicited, among others, by the Head of State to formulate proposals for the composition of the new government, the minister would then have contacted the ex-candidate for the presidential election.

After a telephone exchange, the weekly reveals that Jean-Yves Le Drian would have proposed the name of Ségolène Royal to Emmanuel Macron. But the suggestion would not have convinced the President, who is already considering environmentalist Barbara Pompili. "This is where things go wrong," writes Le Canard Enchaîné, " Believing to respond to Macron, the minister sends Royal the following SMS:" Pompili very well, it's still better than the other madwoman of Ségo "".

"Pompili very well, it's still better than the other crazy woman from Ségo."

Intended for Emmanuel Macron, this message on Ségolène Royal would have been sent by our chief diplomat, Jean-Yves Le Drian to ... Ségolène Royal!

Visibly little resentful, the former socialist minister Ségolène Royal had informed various media that she had indeed been contacted by Le Drian for a possible entry into the government of Jean Castex. A sequence that had aroused unease since the Elysee had initially denied any contact with a "close to the president" before correcting. And Le  Canard  concluded: "Congratulations again to Le Drian, head of French diplomacy ..."
