Sun, sand, sea… Tuesday was a particularly good day for swimming in Palavas-les-Flots, in Hérault. Like many, this 63-year-old woman couldn't resist the call for water. But her immersion ended badly: she felt unwell and died, reports France Bleu Hérault.
The 60-year-old, who was swimming near the Saint-Pierre first-aid station, could not be resuscitated and drowned. The emergency services, who had quickly intervened, had called a helicopter to evacuate the victim. In vain. This is the tenth death by drowning since May 15, recalls local radio.
