His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, issued Law No. (6) for the year 2020 AD, regarding social welfare in the Emirate of Sharjah, which aims to protect and care for the lost social welfare, and encourage and support families in incubation, and integrate the lost of welfare In society, ensure that the social welfare losses enjoy a natural upbringing.

The law requires that a committee called: (the Standing Committee for the Disabled of Social Welfare) be established in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The law defined the competence of the committee, namely: setting the general policy of social welfare in the Emirate of Sharjah, classifying those who lost social welfare as defined in this law, adopting substantive and procedural conditions for how to deal with them, and working to provide and secure the rights of those who lost social welfare stipulated in this law.

The committee also specializes, according to the law, to determine foster families or social homes or the bodies that the committee decides to foster and care for the lost social welfare, and to withdraw social welfare lost from foster families for any reason that requires it, to submit recommendations to the Social Services Department and the concerned authorities and to take the decisions it deems appropriate. Regarding the cases presented to it by the department, providing opinion and advice to the Social Services Department, in matters related to the affairs of those who lost social welfare and their families, and proposing the necessary regulations and regulations to implement the provisions of this law and submitting them to the Executive Council to take what it deems appropriate in relation to them, and any other tasks assigned to it by the Executive Council.

According to the law, those who lost social welfare fall into the following categories: the unknown of the parents, who is born to a known mother and whose lineage is not established by his father legally.

It is deprived of the existence of the family or the carer, and deprived of the care of the family or carer, who is abused or abused by any type of abuse stipulated in this law, and any other category that the Standing Committee for the Welfare of Persons Included in this law considers.

According to the law, anyone who finds someone who has lost social welfare or has sufficient evidence to suspect or contact his information about this must report or hand him over to the police station or the social services department immediately. The police station shall prove the incident, notify the Social Services Department, take the necessary measures to preserve the health and safety of the lost social welfare, and refer the matter to the Public Prosecution to issue an appropriate decision thereon and related matters.

According to the law, the person who is missing a social welfare will be handed over to a foster family to take care of him, according to a decision issued by the committee or to the necessities of necessity in the following cases: there is no natural family to care for him, and his interest requires him to foster with a foster family, and expose him to danger, harm, or abuse by the carer.
