The results of the distance learning evaluation in private schools in Dubai revealed that more than two thirds of the private schools in Dubai achieved advanced levels in the quality of distance learning services received by their students.

The Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority published on its website on Wednesday the results of the evaluation of distance education in private schools in Dubai for the third semester of the previous academic year.

According to the results, 67% of private schools in Dubai were ranked at "advanced" with 139 schools, 34% of schools were at "partially developed" level with 67 private schools, while one private school came within a "non-developed" level.
The results indicate that all private schools are in the “distinguished” or “very good” categories according to the school supervision classifications in the authority for the academic year 2018-2019, providing distance learning services within a “advanced” level, and about 80% of schools are in the “good” And 26% of the schools that are classified within an acceptable category also offer a "sophisticated" level of distance education services.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director General of the Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Dr. Abdullah Al Karam, valued the rapid response of school leaders, teachers, parents and students from the first moment of implementing distance learning in Dubai schools.
He added: "The evaluation of distance learning today constitutes a common language for the educational community on the quality of distance education, and given the diversity of educational models that will be applied by private schools in Dubai next academic year, the results of both the distance education evaluation, in addition to the results of annual school censorship processes, will be presented Together, parents have an in-depth understanding of the quality of education in its various forms, which their children receive in their schools. "

The methodology for evaluating distance learning was developed earlier in the past academic year with the aim of creating common expectations of distance learning, which would help parents to make systematic decisions to choose education that meets the needs of their children.
In a related context, the evaluation of distance learning has been implemented in private schools in Dubai through conducting live interviews on the Internet with school administrators and members of the high school leadership by 621 interviews, along with the attendance of educational evaluators for more than 1242 virtual studies for distance education classes, In addition to obtaining feedback from the educational community, the opinions and observations of more than 96,000 students, 18,000 teachers and 63,000 guardians were explored about their experience with distance learning in their schools during the past few months.
The evaluation results include a classification for each private school in Dubai in applying the distance learning experience, within 3 main levels that include: advanced, partly developed, and underdeveloped.

The distance learning assessment is one of the tools available to help parents to learn about the developments in the quality of educational services provided by each private school in Dubai separately, as each school received its individual report on the evaluation of distance learning.
Learning assessments cover three main areas: student learning and quality of life during distance learning, teaching and follow-up of student learning, and leadership and management of student learning.

The distance education evaluation is a joint initiative between the Ministry of Education, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, the Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi, and the Sharjah Private Education Authority, to evaluate distance learning services and activities provided by public and private schools to students in the United Arab Emirates.
