- We know that there have been two detainees (Swedes, editor's note) in Iran since January this year, says Christian Ugge at the Foreign Ministry's press service.

According to Christian Ugge, these are two men in their 20s and 25s, residing in central and southern Sweden respectively.

The Foreign Ministry does not want to confirm the information that the men are accused of drug crimes, but refers to the "consular secrecy".

Christian Ugge further says that the Swedish embassy in Tehran has visited the two men in custody and that the Ministry for Foreign Affairs is in contact with their relatives in Sweden.

- The Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Swedish Embassy are following this matter closely, he says.
