La Croisette in "chabadabada mode": ten films from the 2020 official selection of the Cannes Film Festival, canceled due to the health crisis, will be showing at the 46th American Film Festival in Deauville, from September 4 to 13, announced Tuesday the organizers.

"In exceptional circumstances, exceptional edition: the American Film Festival is inviting the Cannes Festival this year. 10 films were thus selected among the 56 titles of the Official Selection of the Festival de Cannes (...) All audiences will be able to discover these films on the big screen, in the presence of its general delegate Thierry Frémaux and its president Pierre Lescure ", underline in a joint press release the two festivals.

"One of the oldest film festivals in France will exceptionally take on the appearance of a Croisette in this very special year for the cinema. With Pierre Lescure and the Cannes teams, we are very happy with the hospitality offered to us to project the films of the Official Selection ", indicates for his part Thierry Frémaux, stressing that the two festivals share" an identical requirement for the cinema ".

After the cancellation of its 73rd edition, the Cannes Film Festival brought together under the "Cannes 2020" label a selection of 56 films which were to be presented on the Croisette, in the various selections.

The eagerly awaited "Peninsula" by Yeon Sang-ho, "ADN" by Maïwenn, "Ammonite" by Francis Lee, "Des Hommes" by Lucas Belvaux, "Les Deux Alfred" by Bruno Podalydès, and "Last Words" by Jonathan Nossiter will notably be unveiled in Deauville.

Actress and singer Vanessa Paradis will chair the jury of the 46th Deauville American Film Festival.
