Nine hundred and fifteen women, 70% of whom are minors, disappeared in Peru between March 16 and June 30, during the three and a half months of confinement because of the pandemic, figures in sharp rise, announced Monday the institution " The Defender of the People ”.

Before confinement, there were five disappearances per day on average, but this figure rose to eight over this period. “We need to know what happened with them,” People's Advocate Walter Gutiérrez told RPP radio.

“The cases of little girls and adolescent girls represent 70% of the total number of missing women,” he added.
