"Long-term and intervening sanction"According to her, it is most likely that the mother will eventually be sentenced to probation.
- A person with this history probably has a need for support from society. In that case, probation is both a long-term and an intervening sanction, which helps to minimize the risk of relapse. With that said, I can imagine that in the end it will be probation that is handed down in the case, she says.
