The Palestinian campaign for the academic and cultural boycott of Israel called on Canadian singer Celine Dion to respond to the call of 50 Palestinian artists to cancel their two concerts in Tel Aviv, scheduled for August 4 and 5.

The campaign said in a statement that it was scheduled to hold debt concerts in the "Yarkon Park" which was built on the ruins of the Palestinian village of Grisha, which was ethnically cleansed after the forcible expulsion of its indigenous people in 1948, while they were never allowed to exercise the right of return under the laws of apartheid I have occupation.

In a published statement, a group of Palestinian and international artists and musicians said, "The Israeli far-right regime is taking advantage of all the parties that international artists are performing to whitewash its image after the occupation violations of Palestinian human rights."

The petition added that the Canadian singer named one of her children Nelson, after Mandela, who said, "Our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinian people," and he repeatedly stressed that "Palestine is the greatest moral issue of our time."

The petition urged Canadian singer Celine Dion to think about Mandela's words and her special place in history books, refrain from supporting the Israeli apartheid regime, sing in "Tel Aviv", and not participate in polishing the image of the Israeli occupation.

And 50 Palestinian and international artists and musicians signed the petition, and they supported boycotting the occupation because of its crimes against the Palestinians, including the artistic boycott, and preventing singing in the occupied lands stolen from the Palestinians.

Calls to cancel the two parties began months ago, as Amir Khudair, a former deputy to the National Assembly in Quebec, demanded the Canadian singer refrain from holding the two parties in Tel Aviv.

"It has been announced that you will be organizing a concert in Israel. For decades, Israel has committed serious human rights violations against the Palestinians. I join other peace-loving citizens of Quebec to invite you not to sing in Israel. The singer," he said in a statement posted on his Facebook page. British Roger Waters does not go there with respect for justice and peace and has protested the unlawful seizure of Palestinian land 70 years ago, "but Dion's staff have not commented on these demands.

Dion is hosting her concerts as part of her Courage World Tour, to support her album of the same name. The Canadian singer started in September 2019 and is due to end in July 2021.
