With great emotion, the Egyptian star Mohammed Salah bid farewell to the Croatian star Djan Lovrin, his late colleague, to Zenit Saint Petersburg.

And Liverpool club published through its accounts on social media, the video in which Salah appears, directing some words to his friend.

He said, "We will miss you a lot and I will miss you personally. You are a great player and a close friend of mine. I love you so much and thank you for everything you did for the club and me and I wish you all the best in your future with your new club."

The Reds announced today the transfer of Leuven - who had not participated in the competition last season - to Zenit with a 3-year contract.

Liverpool did not give details of the deal, but reports indicate that it cost the Russian team $ 14 million.

Lovren, 31, joined Liverpool in 2014 from Southampton for $ 25 million.
