Yesterday, the UAE sent a third medical aid plane carrying six tons of medical supplies to Colombia, which contains urgent medical equipment, and will be used by 6000 health care workers to enhance their efforts to contain the spread of the virus.

The UAE’s ambassador to the Republic, Salem Rashid Al Owais, said, “The UAE has historical ties with Colombia, characterized by a nature of friendship, harmony and cooperation in various fields, in light of the keenness of the two countries’ leadership to develop and strengthen them. ”

He added: «In the context of the UAE’s continuing efforts to contribute to strengthening the health sector’s capabilities in Colombia, a third medical aid plane has been sent to it, as the country previously sent two planes carrying 21 tons of medical aid, in addition to 200,000 Corona testing equipment. During the past three months, about 21,000 medical personnel benefited from it, ”confirming that the UAE stands beside friendly countries in light of the conditions the world is witnessing in the face of this pandemic.

It is noteworthy that the UAE provided, until yesterday, more than 1,144 tons of aid to more than 90 countries, which benefited more than one million medical workers.
