A 12-year-old boy was found dead by divers late Monday afternoon while his older brother was still missing after a paddle boarding trip on Lampy Lake in Aude, we learned with the gendarmerie. A lake banned for swimming and water sports for over a month.

It was the parents who sounded the alarm when they discovered the paddle board without its occupants.

A dam lake prohibited for swimming and water activities

The two brothers had climbed on this boat, while since June 23 a municipal decree prohibited swimming and water activities on this body of water in the Black Mountain, said the same source. Quickly an important research device was set up with two helicopters, ten gendarmes and twenty firefighters including divers and a boat.

The Lampy basin is a dam lake located in the town of Saissac, which is part of the infrastructures of the Canal du Midi.
