Renewed demonstrations calling for the resignation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is on trial for corruption charges, and his government is being accused of negligence in the face of the Corona epidemic in light of the increasing casualties and negative repercussions of the crisis.

Last night, thousands of Israelis demonstrated near Netanyahu's official residence and private family home in both West Jerusalem and the coastal city of Caesarea.

The protesters held up banners reading some of them "corrupt, we are tired of you", "separate" (from reality), and "Where are morals? Values? What a loss", and the police used water cannons to disperse the protesters, as some of them stopped.

While the previous movements, which have been continuing for months, were often organized in Tel Aviv and occupied Jerusalem, the demonstrations that took place in Caesarea - which included hundreds - are the first of their kind.

The new moves are a continuation of the protests against Netanyahu because of the deteriorating economic situation due to what they considered to be poor government performance in the face of the Corona epidemic, and also against the background of corruption charges that are being tried.

Various sectors in Israel participate in these demonstrations, led by what is known as the "black flags" movement, which considers that Netanyahu is no longer fit to stay in power, and accuses him of harnessing all capabilities to serve his own interests, in an attempt to escape the trial on corruption charges.

Netanyahu is accused of corruption, fraud and breach of trust in 3 cases, and he appeared before the court, which postponed his trial until early next year.

The Netanyahu-led government, in partnership with blue-and-white party leader Benny Gantz, is being accused of rushing to open the economy and of failing to take concerted measures to stop the virus from spreading.

With the rate of injuries increasing to about one thousand cases per day, the total number of cases of corona in Israel exceeded 60 thousand, including 455 deaths.
