"President Donald Trump today announced a state of emergency in Texas and ordered federal assistance," the statement said.
Earlier it became known that Hurricane Hannah reached the Texas coast.
State Governor Greg Abbott reportedly sent special services to local communities in the region to deal with the aftermath of the hurricane.
