The Masters of the Masters is now a classic on television. When the program is broadcast in the spring every year, it is often in front of millions of viewers.
The popular competition program has previously been recorded in various places in Southern Europe, but next year's edition will be recorded in Sweden, more specifically on the Bjäre Peninsula and in the area of Båstad. This is due to the corona pandemic.
Båstad Turism has helped the production company that will make the program with tips on filming locations and more.
- It is not just places for the competitions themselves that are to be fixed. The participants must have a house to live in during the recordings, but I am not allowed to tell which house it is about, says Karin Bengtsson, CEO of Båstad Turism.
In addition, premises are needed that can be used as a recording location for various competition events if the weather becomes too harsh. In addition, all equipment for TV production and premises for the scenography building must be found.
- Then there is some local expertise that is hired in connection with the production, says Karin Bengtsson. Production assistants, carpenters and generally handy people from the area will be involved, which is very fun.
For Båstad Turism, TV production will be an opportunity for marketing the municipality and the peninsula.
- Of course it is so, states Karin Bengtsson. I myself have watched the program over the years and more than once longed for the places that the participants visit.
