(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) A total of 13 people from the Information Department of the Presidential Office of the Philippines have tested positive

  China News Service, Manila, July 26 (Reporter Guan Xiangdong) The Department of Public Information of the Presidential Office of the Philippines (PCOO) issued a notice on the 25th that the Minister of the Department, Martin Andanal, tested negative for the new crown pneumonia on the 24th.

  As of the afternoon of the same day, a total of 13 PCOO staff had tested positive. Of the three previous positives, one died and two were still receiving treatment.

  Due to contact with an infected staff member of PCOO, Andanar and 49 PCOO staff were tested for new coronary pneumonia on the 24th. The report released on the 25th showed that 10 of the staff tested positive.

  PCOO Deputy Minister of Administrative and Legal Affairs Marvin Gatpayat stated that the Ministry is located in the new administrative office building of the Presidential Palace and was originally scheduled to resume operations on the same day that President Duterte delivered his fifth State of the Union address. Today, the Ministry decided that the staff will continue to work from home, and the office building and commuter shuttle will resume operations at another notice.

  On the same day, Martin Andanal assured the public that PCOO will continue to perform its duties to the Filipino people, ensure that important information is provided to the public in a timely manner, and strengthen contact tracing and testing to avoid further spread of the new crown pneumonia virus among PCOO staff.   The Philippine Ministry of Health announced that there were new confirmed 2019 cases in the country that day, with a total of 78,412 cases, of which 50,763 cases are still sick, nearly 90% are mild, 9% are asymptomatic, and less than 1% are severe and critical cases.
