Tunisian President Qais Said decided to assign the Minister of the Interior, Hisham El Mechishi, to form a new government, in violation of the nominations of political parties and blocs.

Saeed had received over the past week the proposals of parliamentary blocs that included several candidates to take over as prime minister, including party and economic figures, in addition to ministers in the current government.

But the president decided to choose the Mishishi who previously worked as legal advisor to the President of the Republic, and no party nominated him to form the new government.

In front of al-Mishishi, who is independent, it has a month to form a government that can guarantee a majority in parliament. Otherwise, the president will dissolve parliament and call new elections.

The appointment date coincides with the National Day of the Republic of Tunisia and the first anniversary of the death of former President Beji Kaid Essebsi.

The Tunisian Renaissance Movement had earlier called on all components of the political scene to calm and dialogue, and support the elements of national unity and avoid incitement and exclusion.

In a statement, the movement expressed its confidence in the good choice of the President of the Republic, Qais Saeed, who is best able to form the next government, and its openness to various parties and democratic blocs to accelerate the formation of the government, denouncing calls to exclude him from the political and government scene in the service of what she described as suspicious foreign agendas.

Recently, leaders in the Democratic Current (social 22 representatives) and the People's Movement (nationalist 14 representatives) called for the formation of a new government without the Ennahda movement.

In turn, Tunisian Parliament Speaker Rashid Ghannouchi said that it had been decided to hold a public session to discuss withdrawing confidence from him as Speaker of Parliament on the 30th of this month.

Ghannouchi added that he did not come on the back of a tank until he imposed himself on the will of the deputies.
