Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today, Saturday, received Libyan Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj of Istanbul, while military preparations are taking place around the city of Sirte, and Libyan tribes have demanded that international issues be raised against Egyptian interference in Libya.

Al-Jazeera correspondent, quoting sources in the Turkish presidency, said that Erdogan received al-Sarraj in Istanbul, while Anatolia news agency said that the meeting took place in Wahid al-Din Palace in Istanbul, away from the lenses of the media.

It is expected that the two presidents will discuss during their meeting international and regional files, on top of which are developments in the Libyan issue and the next steps.

Al-Jazeera correspondent from Ankara, Farah Al-Zaman Shawky, said that the meeting comes after several moves at the political and diplomatic levels on both sides.

She noted that what has been nominated for the meeting so far does not exceed the parties ’affirmation of cooperation between them on the military and political levels, in accordance with the memoranda of understanding signed between them recently.

The correspondent added that among the issues that the two sides might have discussed is Turkey's understandings with the Russian side, which outline the shape of the next stage in Libya.

As well as trying to prepare a ground for a ceasefire and delivery of aid to civilians, as well as military reinforcements to Sirte.

Today, Erdogan also had a phone conversation with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, and discussed with him regional developments, especially the Libyan file, and Erdogan and Conte agreed to continue the dialogue for a political solution in Libya.

Al-Jazeera's correspondent said that the discussions with Italy may also be among what Erdogan and Al-Sarraj discussed, especially since there is communication between Turkey and the Al-Sarraj government with Italy.

The spokesman for the forces of the National Accord Government, Muhammad Qanunu, had said that his forces were moving east - where the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar were stationed - and that they were stationed on the outskirts of Sirte, awaiting instructions to start the "Paths of Victory" military operation, and he said that the reconciliation government was the one that determined Red lines.

Russia is deploying its equipment

In the same context, the US military command in Africa (AFRICOM) said that it has increased evidence that Russia, through the Wagner Group, continues to deploy military equipment in Libya.

Africom said in a statement that the aerial photos show Wagner forces and equipment on the front lines of Sirte, noting that Russia provided these forces with combat aircraft, armored vehicles, air defense systems and supplies.

On the other hand, notables, tribes, and revolutionaries from central and western Libya called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the government of national reconciliation to prepare memoranda and file cases before the Security Council and the International Court of Justice against the Egyptian parliament’s decision to allow the Egyptian army to intervene and occupy Libya, according to the statement.

The notables also called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prepare similar memoranda against the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Russia and France, in violation of all of the laws defending the sovereignty of states.

The dignitaries announced the start of filing lawsuits against Libyan citizens, who demanded Egyptian intervention in Libya, claiming that they represented the Libyan tribes.
