The water plant restores part of its production capacity and starts water supply

Flooding caused damage to 40 secondary water supply booster pumping stations in Enshi City. Enshi Sewage Treatment Plant was flooded for about 12 hours, and various equipment and facilities were damaged and unable to produce. Since then, the landslide in Mazhe Village caused the water turbidity of Qingjiang River to be too high, the main water plant in the urban area was unable to produce, and more than 85% of the urban area was without water.

After the disaster, the Enshi Housing and Urban-rural Development and Urban Management System launched relevant emergency rescue plans, and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Hubei Provincial Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department dispatched experts and equipment support. The emergency vehicles in the East China Base of the Water Supply Emergency Rescue Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China succeeded in producing water on the evening of the 22nd and began to deliver water, which can produce 480 tons of water per day.

Enshi Prefecture also dispatched 81 water supply, sprinkler, and firefighting vehicles across the prefecture to take water from nearby rural water plants and transfer them to 125 water supply points in the city. Wuhan, Huangshi and other places organized emergency water supply rescue teams to rush to help; Xianning and Zhijiang each urgently purchased 2,000 barrels of drinking water, and Wuhan presented 980,000 bottles of purified water, which were quickly delivered to local residents.

Xiang Hui said that the impact of the Mazhecun landslide on the Dalongtan Reservoir has not been eliminated. The urban water plant can only rely on the original Qingjiang River intake for phased water intake and intermittent production, and the turbidity of the effluent is slightly higher than the national standard. It will take some time to restore normal water supply.

In the next step, Enshi will increase the supply of raw water and optimize the production process by increasing engineering measures, and strive to achieve a production capacity of more than 90,000 tons per day in the urban water plant from July 25. At the same time, we will improve emergency dispatching, improve the divisional, time-sharing, and peak-shifting water supply dispatching plan, and promote the construction of water supply guarantee projects to form a multi-source pattern with Cheba River as the main water source, Yujia River as the supplementary water source, and Dalongtan as the backup water source. .
