The Sudanese Professionals Caucus announced the withdrawal of its recognition of all existing structures of the "Forces for the Declaration of Freedom and Change", which is participating in the transitional government, in protest against the performance of the government and the forces of freedom.

The assembly said in a statement today posted on its account on Twitter, that it decided to withdraw its recognition of all existing structures of the Alliance for the Freedom and Change Proclamation, led by the Central Council for Freedom and Change, and its withdrawal from these structures in its current form.

The assembly, which is the most prominent component of the Freedom and Change Forces Alliance, attributed its decision to the excesses and paradoxes in the terms of the declaration, adding that its decision came after it became clear to him that the government was unable to perform its tasks, and that the performance of the forces of freedom and change was characterized by confusion, the narrowing of narrow interests, and the presentation of tactical considerations On major strategic interests.

The Professionals Caucus decided to organize an urgent conference to discuss the rebuilding and restructuring of the forces of freedom and change, to become expressive of the forces having an interest in protecting and building on the gains of the December 2018 revolution.

Assembly member Al-Walid Ali told Al Jazeera that the decision came as a result of a set of discussions and evaluations that the Assembly had undertaken in the previous period since the signing of the political document between the forces of change and the military council, as well as after his decision to change his delegates within the structures of the forces of freedom and change and the Central Council of Freedom Forces rejected new delegates.

Complete the tasks of the revolution

Ali added that this process was accelerated by the processions (marches) of last June that called for completing the tasks of the revolution and completing the structures of the transitional authority, and they were dealt with slowly and incomprehensibly.

On July 3, the Professionals' Association announced the freezing of the membership of 5 professional bodies affiliated to it after the escalation of internal disputes between the assembly’s bodies, which is one of the most prominent components of the popular movement against ousted President Omar al-Bashir.

On January 1, 2019, the Sudanese Professionals Caucus signed the "Declaration of Freedom and Change" with political and armed alliances that included the national consensus forces and an alliance of armed parties and movements in the "Sudan Call Forces", the opposition Federal Assembly, and civil society organizations.

On August 21, Sudan began a 39-month transitional period that ends with elections, during which power is shared by both the military and the forces of the declaration of freedom and change, which led the popular movement.
