The Traffic and Patrols Directorate in Abu Dhabi has issued violations for 15,588 vehicles for drivers, not to give priority to pedestrians in places designated for transit in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, during the period from January 1 to the end of June 2020, due to the lack of commitment to reduce speeds near pedestrian crossing lines and give them preference in transit. Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate in the Central Operations Sector, called on drivers to the necessity of reducing speeds and a commitment to give priority to pedestrians in places designated for their transit.

She emphasized that pedestrian security and safety is an important strategic priority for the Abu Dhabi Police, and she urged drivers to pay attention to traffic and pedestrian crossing on various roads, and to commit to reducing speeds near the places designated for their transit, in industrial areas and on the internal roads of residential neighborhoods, and give them preference in transit.

She explained that the violation is against non-compliant drivers, including Section 69 not to give priority to pedestrians in places designated for transit, and violating it is 500 dirhams and six traffic points.
