After three years, Håkan Juholt ended his assignment as ambassador to Iceland. He announced this in early June.

Juholt himself dismisses the information.

- I think that is speculation, Juholt says to TT.

TT: There is nothing you want to confirm or deny?

-No, certainly not. On the other hand, I am packing here in Iceland after three intensive years where we have strengthened the cooperation between Sweden and Iceland. Right now when you call, I'm packing boxes.

Left the job as an ambassador

In early June, Håkan Juholt announced that he was leaving his job as ambassador in Reykjavik, when the contract as ambassador expires in August.

What the former party leader for the Social Democrats will do in the future is unclear.

- The relocation will take place on 30 July. What I will do next is speculation, he says.

Håkan Juholt was a Member of Parliament for many years and for ten turbulent months 2011–2012 party leader for the Social Democrats.

SVT has contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which cannot comment on the information.
