On Friday, information was confirmed to VLT that care staff in the emergency room in Västerås must have had covid-19. During the spring, there have been outbreaks of infections at the hospital. But now a new outbreak has occurred.
- It is in the staff group that the spread of infection exists. As it is a societal infection, it is difficult to say how it happened. But we follow the public health authority's recommendations and make sure that if you feel symptoms, you stay at home. We also always have mouth guards and visors wherever you are, says Liselott Sjöqvist to VLT.
Contact tracing
In the emergency department, infection tracking has been going on for a few days now. The staff must undergo a PCR test that shows if they have an ongoing infection.
All staff found to be infected may stay at home. Going forward, you will see if any more have become infected.
