Video screens representing supporters will be installed around the floors of the NBA when the championship resumes on July 30, the League and its partner Microsoft announced on Friday.

More than 300 supporters will be able to appear, in five rows, during each match around the pitches, on screens 5 meters long, thanks to a technology similar to that deployed in Europe by football clubs, in particular Manchester City.

"We are pleased to unveil a series of enhancements that will bring fans of the game closer together and allow them to personalize their experience," said Sara Zuckert, NBA TV Innovations Manager.

"Our goal is to create an immersive and enjoyable experience where supporters can communicate with each other and keep a sense of belonging," she adds.

The NBA, stopped on March 11 after the positive test for the new coronavirus of the French of Utah Rudy Gobert, must resume on July 30 in a "bubble" cut from the outside in Orlando (Florida).

Twenty-two franchises must participate in the final tournament to finish the regular season and play the play-offs which must begin in August.

The NBA and Microsoft will also launch several innovations in the broadcasting of matches, in particular new camera angles and artificially generated images, or developments in the sound that should make it possible to better hear the cries of players or the noise of the parquet.
