July 24, 2020 France today denounced "a sharp increase" in the daily number of cases of Covid-19, so as to call for greater "collective discipline". The government also announced that it will request travelers from 16 countries for the Covid-19, including the United States and Brazil. In the note released today, the French Ministry of Health stressed that "with a number of daily cases exceeding 1,000, we have returned to levels comparable to those of the end of the confinement period". "We thus canceled out much of the progress made in the first few weeks after the lockdown ended."

For his part, Prime Minister Jean Castex has announced that travelers from 16 countries "where viral circulation is particularly strong" will have to submit a negative test performed less than 72 hours before in the country of departure or undergo tests on arrival in France . In case of positivity, the person will be subjected to 14 days of isolation. The measures will be operational "at the latest on August 1st," he added. The 16 countries concerned are: the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Panama, South Africa, Kuwait, Qatar, Israel, Brazil, Peru, Serbia, Algeria, Turkey, Madagascar, India and Oman.

Europe worries the WHO
The new flare-up of the coronavirus epidemic in several European countries is somehow turning the clock back, compared to an emergency that was hoped to be over. The new outbreaks "worry" the WHO , which calls not to rule out the restoration of drastic measures. In the meantime, we are witnessing the gradual return to traveler checks and the use of masks indoors.

The Old Continent has crossed the threshold of 3 million cases, with an average of around 20,000 per day. A level twice lower than the peaks of early April, but still worthy of attention, if we consider the resurgence of the virus especially in the Balkans. These are situations that WHO Europe monitors, warning: "If the situation so requires, the reintroduction of more rigorous and targeted measures, with the total involvement of the population, may be necessary".

In the Balkans the case of Romania is emblematic , the most populous country in the region, which once again in the last 24 hours has touched the record of new infections, over 1,100. And the Bucharest hospitals are left without more places. Hundreds of new infections in Serbia , Bosnia , Bulgaria , Kosovo and Northern Macedonia .

Then there is Belgium , where the epidemic has returned to running in the last two weeks, also taking away a three-year-old girl, the youngest victim in the country. As a demonstration that "nobody is immune", the authorities warned. In Spain there have been over 900 new infections, slightly decreasing, but not enough to let down the guard. So much so that in Catalonia , one of the most affected regions, the closure of night clubs has been ordered. The Russia , where the temperature never fell, exceeded the threshold of 800,000 cases, nearly six thousand more in a day. As numbers, only the United States, Brazil and India are worse off.

In this situation, which can be considered as an advance of the second wave of Covid-19, further containment measures are introduced in Europe . For example, the obligation to wear a mask indoors is increasingly widespread. In England , in shops and supermarkets, with an appeal by Boris Johnson to wear it, in addition to a tirade against the no-vaxes. In Vienna, you will also have to cover your face at post offices, banks and medical centers. In France, the measure started a few days ago, for all public places.

In Germany , where new infections have increased (over 800), the Land health ministers want to strengthen the tests for coronavirus for those returning from holidays or arriving in the country. The Norway has imposed quarantine for those arriving from Spain.
