Sixteen fires were recorded. In Plancoët, in the Côtes-d'Armor, arson has multiplied in recent months, creating a climate of insecurity for the population. In early July, a hedge fire had spread, approaching dangerously the service station of the hypermarket in the town located between Dinan and Saint-Brieuc. Gas bottles had exploded in the heat, luckily without causing any injuries.

Thursday, a man was indicted and remanded in custody at Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine) remand center. Dinan's company, which carried out the investigation, suspects him of having deliberately started these fires. Beyond the fires of hedges or trash cans, the suspect would also have tried to set fire to an electrical transformer. The suspect's profile is not yet known.
