Three students from the Applied Technology High School in Falaj Al-Mualla were able to create a smart device for dispensing medications, which depends on a card that uses electric waves to communicate with the drug dispensing device in the pharmacy, and thus can leave the medical prescriptions that are not in line with the precautionary and preventive measures against the infection of «Corona virus ».

The teacher of applied electrical technology at the school, the project supervisor, Engineer Bahaa Al-Din Saleh, told «Emirates Today» that in light of the pandemic of the Corona virus emerging (Covid-19), which imposed on institutions and individuals precautionary and preventive requirements, there is an urgent need to provide solutions Innovative service to community members, and from here students invented: Ahmed Hassan, Ahmed Fadel and Mohamed Saif, an automated method of dispensing drugs without human intervention.

He explained that the idea of ​​the project depends on adding the patient's data and medical prescription to the (RFID) card, which uses electric waves to communicate with the drug dispensing device, which in turn dispenses the required amount of medicine according to the doctor’s instructions, adding that he took charge of the implementation of the students ’project in conjunction with his colleague, the engineer Khaled Jumaa.

Saleh stressed that the device is easy to use and programming, and saves time and effort, and makes the patient not wait for a long time to check his prescription or sit long times at the pharmacy to dispense medicines, and that the device reduces any errors that may result from an error in reading the prescription, and the device contributes to achieving spacing Physical measures required as a precaution.

He added that cards can be used to record and book appointments, noting that the cost of the device is about 1,000 dirhams.
