During a special operation in three regions, the Federal Security Service of Russia detained members of the interregional structure of the international terrorist organization "Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan" *. This was reported by the press service of the FSB.

“Employees of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in cooperation with units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Federal Service of National Guard Troops in the framework of a special operation carried out in the years. Moscow, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk Territory suppressed the activities of the interregional structure of the international terrorist organization "Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan" (banned in Russia by the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation in 2003), detained 22 people from among its leaders and rank-and-file participants, "the ministry said in a statement.

The members of the group were engaged in recruiting and transporting people to combat zones, financing militants in Syria, and also carried out calls for committing terrorist crimes.

During the arrest, the security forces found prohibited religious literature, propaganda videos and fake passports.

Incidents in other regions

Over the past few months, it became known about the prevention of terrorist acts and the detention of militants in several Russian regions. 

So, on the eve, on July 22, the FSB prevented a terrorist attack in Kabardino-Balkaria, which was being prepared by supporters of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" **. Service officers overtook four militants in the mountainous and wooded area of ​​the Chegem region. The terrorists put up armed resistance and were eliminated.

An improvised explosive device, components for making explosives and other evidence were found in their home in Nalchik.

On the fact of the incident, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under articles on encroachment on the life of security officials and illegal circulation of weapons and explosives.

On July 17, the FSB Public Relations Center announced the prevention of a terrorist attack in Khabarovsk. As it became known, representatives of the special services detained a citizen of one of the Central Asian republics born in 1988, who "planned, at the direction of the leaders of international terrorists, to commit a terrorist attack using incendiary devices in crowded places."

After the implementation of the criminal plan, he planned to leave for the war zone in the Middle East, where he intended to join the terrorists.

During special events, FSB specialists confiscated ready-to-use Molotov cocktails, edged weapons, and the flag of an international terrorist organization. A video of the "oath" to the leaders of the terrorists and correspondence with a discussion of the planned terrorist act were found on the detainee's phone.

In addition, on July 7, the FSB detained in Crimea three leaders and four members of the terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami ***. The department reported that they spread terrorist ideology among local residents and recruited Crimean Muslims into their ranks. The detainees carried out "anti-constitutional activities based on the doctrine of the creation of the so-called world caliphate, destruction of the institutions of secular society and aimed at violent overthrow of the current government," the service said.

In addition, on June 30, law enforcement officers detained in Vladikavkaz a man born in 1990, who was planning to commit a terrorist attack near one of the administrative buildings of the republican center.

He also turned out to be an Islamic State supporter. During the special operation, the security forces found components for making an explosive device, as well as correspondence with IS members abroad.
