23 July 2020Poste Italiane, through its subsidiary PostePay, has signed an agreement with Tim that will allow to bring private fiber optic services to private individuals and companies using ultra-broadband technologies, combining the capillarity of the post office network with the spread of the Tim network on the whole national territory. Again through the subsidiary PostePay, it also signed an agreement with Open Fiber with the same objectives.

The initiatives, according to notes from the Italian Post Office, are part of PostePay's strategy to consolidate fixed telephony services and aim at "expanding the range of offers aimed at the consumer and business market, with new ultrabroadband fiber optic services, with the aim of increasingly reducing the digital divide between the various areas of the country ".

The agreements with Tim and with Open Fiber also reinforce "the group's ability to respond more and more effectively to the various customer needs, confirming the central role of Poste Italiane in the digitalization and economic development process".
