Russian long-range strategic bomber flying mission over the Black Sea

  Xinhua News Agency, Moscow, July 23 (Reporter Leo) The Russian Defense Ministry issued a statement on the 23rd stating that the Russian Aerospace Forces two Tu-22M3 long-range strategic bombers are flying missions over the neutral waters of the Black Sea.

  The statement said that the two bombers had a flight distance of about 4,500 kilometers and a flight time of more than 5 hours. But the statement did not specify the specific time of the flight. Romanian Air Force MiG-21 fighter jets accompany Russian military aircraft in some flight segments.

  The statement stated that Russian military aircraft regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, the North Atlantic, the Pacific, the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea, and the relevant flights strictly abide by the rules for the use of international airspace.

  The "Sea Breeze-2020" multinational joint military exercise led by Ukraine and the United States was held on the 20th in the Black Sea in southern Ukraine. 27 warships, 19 aircraft and about 2,000 soldiers from the United States, Ukraine, Turkey, Spain, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, Norway and other countries participated in the exercise, including the USS Porter guided-missile destroyer of the US Navy’s Sixth Fleet. The military exercise will last 7 days.
