A 45-year-old woman was summoned to the Criminal Court of Evreux (Eure), this Friday, to answer for facts of contempt, violence, hit-and-run and driving while drunk without insurance, reports Paris Normandy . The facts with which he is accused took place in Damville in November 2019.

After consuming five glasses of alcohol with friends, the 40-year-old decided to drive home with her 13-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter. After a few meters, she had crashed into a gate before fleeing to a friend's house, leaving her children in the car.

Six months suspended prison sentence

The woman had finally returned to the scene of the accident. The gendarmes were then there. She did not hesitate to insult them and to put up some resistance to them when it came time to check her blood alcohol level. The soldiers wanted to take her to the hospital.

During the trial, his lawyer explained the situation of his client: “[Her] husband inherited a fortune of nearly 40 million euros but was the victim of evil vultures. He is now at the head of a debt of 700,000 euros. If that does not excuse the attitude of his wife, it contributes to the explanation of this drift ”, he declared and whose remarks are relayed by the regional daily.

These arguments were partly heard by the judge, who sentenced her to a six-month suspended prison sentence. Four gendarmes were compensated. However, his driving license was not suspended because he is the only person who can transport his family.
