The decision was announced at the Danish equivalent of the Swedish Public Health Agency's weekly update on the country's travel restrictions due to the corona pandemic.

Starting this weekend, Swedes from twelve regions can travel to Denmark: Jämtland Härjedalen, Sörmland, Uppsala, Örebro, Östergötland, Blekinge, Kronoberg, Halland, Västerbotten, Kalmar, Värmland and Skåne.

However, the Danish authorities still advise against unnecessary travel to other counties.

New Norwegian message

On Friday, a new travel notice is expected from Norway. At present, only people from Blekinge, Kronoberg and Skåne are allowed to travel to the country, something that has hit the border trade hard.

There are signs that the country's travel restrictions can be eased tomorrow, which has caused Swedish traders to prepare for a popular uprising.

However, the restrictions have meant that Norwegians spend their money in Norway, which has made domestic trade flourish. Votes are now being raised to restrict cross-border trade to protect the Norwegian economy.

- It is perhaps 20 billion Swedish kronor every year that is pumped out of the Norwegian economy and into the Swedish economy. Then, as a Norwegian politician, I must see what we can do to get more of that money into the Norwegian economy, says Kårstein Løvaas, parliamentary representative for the Conservative Party, to SVT.

Finnish border closed

On Thursday, Finland reintroduced travel restrictions to several European countries: Austria, Slovenia and Switzerland.

The border with Sweden is still closed as the spread of infection in Sweden does not meet the requirement for a maximum of 8 new corona cases per 100,000 people during the last 14 days.

This despite the fact that Finnish politicians have opened up for exceptions for countries that reach down to 10 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants, writes Hufvudstadsbladet.
