Researchers are making great progress in developing vaccines to prevent Covid-19 disease, with a few of them entering final phase trials, but it is not possible to expect them to start before early 2021, a WHO expert said on Wednesday.

"De facto, the first part of next year will come before people get the vaccine," Mike Ryan, executive director of the WHO emergency program, said on a public event on social media.
