The driver had just stepped out of the car at the restaurant, which had about 50 guests. It was two o'clock on Sunday afternoon when he was supposed to have been met by the Hells Angels member.

- I got a broken thumb and a knocked out tooth. But they should not scare me, says the beaten man who was cared for at the hospital in Kalix for his injuries.

- They have threatened me before and said that I should not come north.

Competitors to each other

According to the truck driver, the origin of the assault is that he runs a competing business. Both the suspected Hells Angels member and he have companies that hire drivers for various haulage companies.

- I'm not sure that all hauliers know which people they hire, says the man who as soon as he was discharged from the hospital had to continue driving with the full truck despite injuries.

The police confirm that there was an assault in Överkalix on Sunday and that a report has been made. But do not want to say more because of the ongoing investigation.

Denies crime

The Hells Angels member himself denies any involvement.

- He fully denies crime. He has not committed the alleged crime. Interrogations have been held and since then he has been released, which I as a defender mean indicates that the investigators also make the assessment that he is innocent of the crime for which he is accused, says the man's lawyer Magnus Söderlind.

- Our assessment is that the act for which he is accused in all circumstances is not to be regarded as a serious crime.
