According to the website of the United States Geological Survey, at 14:12 on July 22, Beijing time, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake occurred in the southern waters of Alaska, with a focal depth of 10 kilometers. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has issued a tsunami warning.

  According to the website, another 4.8-magnitude and 4.6-magnitude earthquake occurred in the area, with focal depths of 27.1 kilometers and 16.4 kilometers, respectively.

  The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center stated that at present, the tsunami warning is effective for the Pacific coast of southern Alaska and the Alaska Peninsula, while the impact on other Pacific coasts of North America is still under evaluation.

  In addition, Guam, Hawaii, Japan, Mexico, Russia and other regions may also encounter waves of no higher than 0.3 meters.
