July 22, 2020 "We made decisions 20 days ahead of other regions. When we closed elsewhere, public initiatives were made, it said 'Milan doesn't stop', 'Bergamo doesn't stop', 'Brescia doesn't stop', then they stopped to count thousands of dead, thousands not hundreds ".

The president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, said about the covid19 emergency during his visit today to the Sapri hospital.

During his visit to the hospital, De Luca still severely attacked the management of the Covid19 emergency in the regions of Northern Italy. "In the province of Bergamo alone - he said - there were 2,000 deaths among the elderly in the care homes. In the whole Campania there were 14 deaths in the RSA. It was difficult to quarantine the Vallo di Diano. In Milan they still argue if the red zone had to be made by the Government or Region. In the meantime we have closed and saved the lives of hundreds of people. We have given important proof, obviously an essential part of the result is represented by the keeping of our staff, here we have hospitals of absolute excellence, not there is a need to go to Milan, Bologna, Verona, Pavia ".

"We record - said De Luca commenting on the contagions in the last days in Campania - some small outbreak here and there, there is another positive in Salerno because the husband came from Brazil and had the Brazilian wife. It is not a big problem on condition that citizens are responsible. In recent days we have had a feeling of removing the problem, there has been too much lightness, instead the mask must be worn obsessively ".

School year opening? Campania will be autonomous
"The government has made commitments, I don't know if it will keep them, we as Campania think about our own facts, let's prepare to be autonomous". So Vincenzo De Luca, about the opening of the school year, during the visit to the hospital of Sapri, in the province of Salerno. "We are preparing with our health facilities to do 180 thousand serological tests to all school staff. If the government sends reagents and everything else, that's fine, but - he said again - we must be ready even if the government does not should send anything. "

"I always remember that in mid-March, two weeks after the closure of everything, nothing was arriving in Campania: masks, fans, Fpp2, Fpp3. It can still happen, while we must guarantee our families and our children to face the school year with serenity, "concluded the governor.
