Yesterday (21st) 13 soldiers were confirmed by corona19 at the army unit in Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do yesterday. All over 220 troops were inspected and put into quarantine. As the path of infection is still unknown, the spread to other units is also a concern.

is a subordinate unit of the 8th Division of Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, commonly referred to as the'Ottogi Unit'.

A door was locked on the entrance door of the troops serving over 220 people.

Control of movement, containment of entire units.

Two of these soldiers were diagnosed with fever and sore throat symptoms yesterday, and yesterday afternoon both were confirmed.

Military authorities immediately conducted a thorough inspection of 50 closely contacted one-person quarantines and the remaining 170 airborne, or cohort-containment personnel, with 13 confirmed to date.

None of the executives commute to work, and they are all soldiers living in the unit.

The number of confirmed patients may increase further when the test results are complete.

There are soldiers who went out on the 10th, but the route of infection has not been accurately identified.

[Eung-Kyung Jung/Director of Disease Management Headquarters: It seems to be correct to investigate and take a close look at these areas (infection paths) or leave the entire military unit.]

All of the confirmers came from the Logistics Support Battalion, but since there are many contacts with other troops in the division, the possibility of spreading other units cannot be excluded.

New infections in the military are only six weeks after the 10th of last month.

Due to the nature of the military, which is connected to the community through vacations, outings, and commuting while living in a group, military authorities are unable to release tension.
