July 21, 2020 A rubber dinghy with 120 migrants is said to be in difficulty in international waters about fifty miles from the Libyan coast. The boat, Sea Watch and Alarm Phone say, would have been at sea for over 12 hours, without an engine and with one of the tubulars that would be deflating. Of the 120 people on board, 24 would be minors and none would have life jackets.

NGOs have warned both the Maltese and Italian authorities of the situation by asking for immediate relief.

The dinghy was spotted 50 miles from Zliten by the Moonbird, the Sea Watch plane that also spotted a lifeless body "that appears to have been in the water for several days".

The coordinates of the place where the body was found were also sent to the authorities of Malta, Italy and Libya.

We believe this boat in distress spotted by #Moonbird is the one that reached out to Alarm Phone. One of the tubes is deflating. Such an overcrowded dinghy can collapse at any moment.

Europe, mobilise all available rescue assets before it is too late! Https: //t.co/HuC4WZN4YZ
