China News Service, July 21, according to comprehensive Korean media reports, on the 20th local time, South Korea’s first military communications satellite "Anasis-II" was launched at Cape Canaveral Air Force Base in Florida, USA.

  According to reports, the US space exploration technology company SpaceX said that at 5:30 pm Eastern time on the 20th, the "Falcon 9" rocket carrying the South Korean military communications satellite "Anasis-II" was launched. It is expected that the "Anasis-II" will enter a geostationary orbit with a distance of 36,000 kilometers in 8 days.

  South Korea’s Radio International (KBS) stated that "Anasis-II" is a dedicated military communications satellite, manufactured by French Airbus based on the Eurostar-E3000 satellite platform.

  With military communications satellites, South Korea can strengthen its security and information processing capabilities and perform missions in a wider area.

  According to the Korean government's 2020 budget, the "Anasis-II" military communications satellite will cost 500 billion won.
