On Monday, the 46-year-old man was convicted of attempted murder, after he tried to kill his wife with a crowbar in their home in Karlshamn at the end of January. The prosecutor had demanded 14 years in prison, but Blekinge District Court increased the sentence to 16 years. Something that surprises the 46-year-old and his lawyer.

- The man was determined that the maximum would be the punishment that the prosecutor had demanded, says Christer Holmqvist.

Has three weeks on him

The 46-year-old and his lawyer now have three weeks to decide whether to appeal the verdict to the Court of Appeal or not.

- We have not taken a final position on the issue, but it is clear that we are considering appealing, says Christer Holmqvist.

How is the man?

- He has been in custody for quite some time now and it is always difficult when you are not allowed to see your children, says Christer Holmqvist.

The woman has woken up

The woman is still in hospital, and according to BLT has woken up from her coma.

- She has made progress, but has serious injuries, says the woman's plaintiff's assistant Susanne Jirestig to SVT Nyheter Blekinge.
