Last week, an elderly woman was seriously injured when she was assaulted and stabbed with a sharp object by an unknown man. The suspect was arrested, but has now been released, the newspaper GT was the first to report. Prosecutor Andreas Bergman confirms the information for SVT Nyheter Halland.
- The suspicions against the man remain, but have weakened, so we do not have enough to keep him in custody. The preliminary investigation continues, however. We work widely and want to continue to receive witness information, says prosecutor Andreas Bergman.
He does not want to say if there is anyone else suspected of the act, but refers to the secrecy of the preliminary investigation.
