Acting Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Mikhail Degtyarev arrived at the administrative center of the region to fulfill his duties. He was introduced to the regional cabinet of ministers and representatives of the federal executive bodies of the region.

During his first speech as acting head of the Khabarovsk Territory, he expressed the hope that "peace and harmony" will return to the streets of the regional cities.

“I am ready to work with you day and night. I promise you that the light in my window in my office on the 10th floor will be on until late at night, ”Degtyarev said, addressing members of the Khabarovsk government.

According to him, the main task is to work for the benefit of local residents. He named the implementation of priority national projects and preparation for the heating season as one of the primary tasks of the regional authorities.

“We all need to unite in solving social problems and problems that concern people. It is important that salaries are paid on time, residents are timely received due social guarantees and benefits. And, given the serious risks of the spread of coronavirus, we must pay special attention to protecting the health of residents of the region, ”added the acting governor.

After Degtyarev's opening speech, the Minister of Health of the Territory Alexander Vitko made a presentation on the current situation in the fight against COVID-19 in the region. As follows from the data of the headquarters, the Khabarovsk Territory is the only constituent entity of the Russian Federation, where for 10 weeks in a row there has been an increase in cases of coronavirus disease. At the same time, the State Duma on July 21, during a plenary session, adopted a draft resolution on the early termination of the powers of a deputy from the LDPR faction, Mikhail Degtyarev, in connection with his appointment as interim head of the Khabarovsk Territory.

The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov indicated that Vladimir Putin took into account the opinion of the residents of the Khabarovsk Territory, as well as Degtyarev's business qualities and rich political experience when he was appointed to the post of interim governor of this subject of the Russian Federation.

"The president was mainly guided by the main task - to establish the smooth operation of the authorities in Khabarovsk, including work in line with the fundamental documents and development plans, national goals that are now at the forefront," Peskov explained, speaking about how he was chosen candidate for the post of Acting Governor of Khabarovsk.

The day before, President Vladimir Putin appointed Mikhail Degtyarev to the post of interim governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, dismissing Sergei Furgal "due to the loss of confidence." On July 9, Furgal was arrested on charges of involvement in organizing murders and attempted murders of entrepreneurs, which, according to the investigation, were committed by an organized criminal group in 2004-2005 in the Khabarovsk Territory and the Amur Region. The ex-governor himself does not admit his guilt.

At the same time, the Investigative Committee reported on the presence of irrefutable evidence of Furgal's involvement in organizing the murders of entrepreneurs Yevgeny Zori and Oleg Bulatov, as well as the attempt on the life of Alexander Smolsky.

In addition, the department emphasized that Sergei Furgal and his business partner Nikolai Mistryukov, at the initial stage of the investigation into the murder of Yevgeny Zori, exerted a "serious influence on certain high-ranking police officers" who informed him about the preliminary investigation, as well as on those who gave evidence.

“Taking into account the available information, the Investigative Committee of Russia intends to comprehensively study and give a legal assessment of all the circumstances related to both the investigation of the murder and the concealment of the fact of the criminal prosecution of the defendants in 2004,” said Svetlana Petrenko, an official representative of the IC.
