Astra Zeneca and Oxford University's vaccine candidate against the coronavirus has shown positive results, according to the results of the phase 1 study.
- We welcome the study and congratulate Oxford University and Astra Zeneca, but we have a long way to go, said WHO's head of crisis preparedness Michael J Ryan during Monday's press conference.
At the same time, CEO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus believes that we need to wait for a vaccine.
- We must continue vaccine research, at the same time as we must do more with the tools we have now.
