Two men drowned in the Lac de la Ramée at the end of the day Sunday, in the commune of Toulouse. At around 6 p.m., the Haute-Garonne firefighters were called to see a man disappear in the waters of the lake. Aged 32, the man went to bathe with his dog. But the people who stayed on the bank saw the animal return without its owner.

While waiting for the firefighters, a 28-year-old man entered the water to try to rescue the drowning man. For a reason still unknown, the latter lost his footing in the waters of the lake and also drowned.

Members of the departmental fire and rescue service dived to recover the two men. They found their bodies half an hour after the lake survey began. They tried to revive them, to no avail. According to firefighters, the two deceased were unrelated.

Already drowning in late June

The very significant heat yesterday, contrasting with the cold water, added to the tiredness is perhaps at the origin of these discomforts which turned into drama.

This is not the first drowning that has taken place since the start of the summer at La Ramée, on June 28, a man wanted since the day before had been found dead there. There is a supervised swimming area, but people often bathe outside this dedicated place.
